ABOUT RAKEEN’S ROLE IN CONGO

Rakeen Congo, part of the visionary Rakeen group, has recognized this huge potential of DRC and started several projects in Kinshasa, the country’s capital, with considerable investment to contribute towards the modernization of the city in line with the strong demand of the market. Rakeen has been closely observing the political and economic development of DRC, therefore acquired a solid understanding of strengths and opportunities of this great country. Naturally, also weaknesses have been determined, which create unrivalled chances for the Rakeen group, its customers and partners. The residential accommodation and lack of offices are some of the main challenges in Kinshasa, and Rakeen believes that its developments will bring an appropriate answer to the current strong market
demand. Moreover, Rakeen’s projects are in line with the “5 Chantiers” of the President of DRC, H.E. Joseph Kabila Kabange, in terms of infrastructure for the modernization of Kinshasa, allowing Rakeen to pro-actively take part in the development and prosperity of the country.

OTHER PROJECTS OF RAKEEN CONGO SPRL

Rakeen’s projects in DRC are located in three prime locations:

Site 1 “Gare Centrale”: Two residential and commercial twin towers located at the central railway station right in the business area in Gombe.

Site 2 “Office des Routes”: Located on the ancient Place of Independence, opposite of the Justice Palace and close to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rakeen is building a 5-star hotel, conference centre and high end apartments.

Site 3 “LAC”: A shopping mall in the middle of Boulevard of “30 Juin”, close to the terminus of the LAC.

Rakeen - an Arabic word that means ‘central pillar’ or ‘trustworthy support’ - commenced operations in 2006, in a royal decree by His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, as the land master planner and developer to be responsible for RAK’s property development.
